In a step that reflects the keenness to develop infrastructure and facilitate commercial and tourism movement, the completion of maintenance and rehabilitation work on the fourth section of the vital international road Ataq-Al-Abr, which connects Shabwa Governorate, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the rest of the governorates of the Republic, was announced.
This great achievement was the culmination of tireless efforts made by the Ministry of Public Works and Roads, represented by His Excellency Engineer Salem Al-Aboudi, in cooperation with the Governor of Shabwa Governorate, Chairman of the Local Council, Awad Muhammad bin Al-Wazir, and with funding from the Road Maintenance Fund, Aden Main Center.
The technical teams of Yabib Al Harthy Trading and Contracting Company Limited were able to complete comprehensive rehabilitation work for the fourth section, approximately 22 kilometers long. These works included removing the old and dilapidated asphalt layer, re-asphalting the road with new layers according to the highest technical specifications, in addition to constructing protection walls. Sideways to ensure the safety of travelers, and provide all necessary traffic safety and directional signs.
It is worth noting that the Ataq-Al-Abr road is considered a vital artery linking Shabwa Governorate and the rest of the Yemeni governorates in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, making it one of the most important commercial roads in the country. It also contributes to stimulating the economic and tourism movement in the region, and enhances trade exchange between Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
