Prime Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak announced a project to generate electricity with wind in the temporary capital, Aden, which will be funded by the United Arab Emirates.
Ibn Mubarak inspected the project site, which has an area of twenty-eight square kilometers in the Qawa area.
The Prime Minister pointed out the ongoing communication with the Emirates to sign an agreement to start implementation, and the station is scheduled to produce 100 megawatts.
The Prime Minister also directed the Ministry of Electricity to expedite the necessary steps to start the project, and expressed his thanks to the UAE for the generous support it provides to the renewable energy sector in Yemen, including establishing the first solar electricity generation system in Mokha and Aden, and its keenness to expand the experiment.
