The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center “Masam” project to clear Yemeni lands of mines during the third week of this October recovered 829 mines in various regions of Yemen.
The removed mines were distributed among one anti-personnel mine, 49 anti-tank mines, 777 unexploded ordnance, and two explosive devices.
With regard to geographical distribution, the “Masam” team was able to remove 202 unexploded ordnance in Aden Governorate, and one anti-tank mine and two unexploded ordnance in Qataba District in Al Dhalea Governorate.
In the Hays District of Hodeidah Governorate, one anti-personnel mine and two unexploded ordnances were removed. Lahj Governorate also removed one unexploded ordnance in Al-Waht District, and two unexploded ordnances and one explosive device were removed in the Mudaraba District.
In Ma'rib Governorate, the team removed one anti-tank mine in Harib District, 20 anti-tank mines and 400 unexploded ordnance in Ma'rib District, and in Usaylan District in Shabwa Governorate, the team removed 3 anti-tank mines and one unexploded ordnance.
In Taiz Governorate, the team removed one anti-personnel mine, 4 anti-tank mines, and 6 unexploded ordnance in Dhubab District, and removed 20 anti-tank mines, one unexploded ordnance, and one explosive device in Al-Mukha District, and 160 unexploded ordnance in Sabr District.
p>The number of mines removed during the month of October increased to 3,038 mines, while the number of mines removed since the beginning of the “Masam” project has increased until now to 466,711 mines that were planted randomly in various Yemeni lands to claim more innocent victims from children, women and the elderly.< /p>
