The Governor of Lahj Governorate, Major General Ahmed Turki, today, Wednesday, discussed with the Director of the Central Bank of Yemen branch in the governorate, Mamdouh Al-Shaabi, at the branch headquarters, the efforts made by all sectors of the state to control the exchange rates of the national currency.
The governor of the governorate was informed, by the director of the bank branch in the governorate, of the branch’s comprehensive activities, in terms of the governorate’s monetary position, indicators of cash liquidity, government spending in the governorate, its financial resources, the size of the deficit and the methods used to reduce it, and procedures to stop speculation in the local currency and deter those manipulating it. And the closure of all violating, unlicensed exchange establishments in the governorate’s directorate areas, and the high percentage of completion achieved by the project to fencing the bank branch headquarters, in which work is currently underway, with an area of 14 thousand square meters.
Governor Turki praised the great national, sovereign role played by the branch of the Central Bank of Yemen in Lahj Governorate, in enhancing the stability of the banking field in the governorate, and providing important pivotal financial services, towards the public, private and mixed sectors, by completing the transactions of its clients, citizens, and employees of the state’s administrative apparatus and its institutions. And investment companies.
The Governor of Lahj Governorate stressed the importance of the Central Bank of Yemen doubling its energies and responsible initiatives in curbing exchange rate increases, because their negative effects primarily affect citizens.
