A horrific traffic accident occurred in the Najd Qassim area in the Yemeni Taiz Governorate, today, Sunday, resulting in the death of more than 5 people and the injury of dozens.

Local sources said that a truck lost control after the air brakes failed, causing it to run over a group of shoppers and vehicles.

The sources added that the death toll is likely to rise, as many of the injured are still in critical condition.

Local sources said that the cause of the accident was the closure of some of the roads that vehicles were traveling on, forcing the trucks to travel on bumpy roads and overburden themselves while ascending to the Najd Qassim area.
