Mohamed Ali Yasser, Governor of Al-Mahra Governorate, inspected the progress of the ongoing work to clear flood channels and open the entrances and exits of ferries and surface bridges, in preparation for facing the upcoming depression.
During the visit, in which he was accompanied by the Secretary General of the Local Council, Mr. Salem Abdullah Nemer, the First Undersecretary, Brigadier General Mukhtar Al-Jaafari, the Undersecretary for Public Relations, Mr. Muhammad Mohsen Raafit, and the Undersecretary for Technical Affairs, Engineer Awad Qweizan, the governor directed the speedy removal of waste and trees that obstruct Flood streams.
The inspection visit included the Hebrew Jaza Valley and a number of ferries and side streets in the city of Al-Ghaydah.
Governor Bin Yasser directed the Emergency Committee and the Health Office to raise preparedness, prepare mobile medical teams and other rescue teams, and evacuate schools to use them as shelter centers in the event of any emergency.
The Governor was accompanied during the visit by the Director General of the Yemen Petroleum Company, Mahra Governorate Branch, Engineer Mohsen Ali Balhaf, the Director General of Financial Affairs, Mr. Adnan Badinar, the Director General of the Roads and Bridges Corporation, Mr. Obaid bin Atour, and the Director General of Public Works, Engineer Khaled Al-Imad. And the Director General of Al-Ghaydah, Mr. Salem Awad Saedan.
