On Saturday, the National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning warned citizens against staying in the valleys, amid expectations of thunderstorms in the coming hours.

The center warned, according to its statement, against falling into the paths of floods during and after rain and thunder, and low horizontal visibility on roads and mountain slopes due to dense low clouds and fog formation.

He indicated that thunderstorms of varying intensity are expected to fall on the plains and coasts of Tihama and parts of the governorates of Lahj, Al-Dhalea, Taiz, Ibb, Raymah, Al-Mahwit, Hajjah, and Saada.

Scattered rains are expected in areas of Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar and Aden governorates, and may extend eastward to include the Abyan and Shabwa highlands and parts of the eastern coasts and the Socotra archipelago.
