The Saudi authorities announced the arrest of more than a thousand violators of the border security system, who managed to infiltrate the Kingdom’s territory, about half of whom are of Yemeni nationality.
Joint field campaigns to follow up and arrest violators of the residency, work, and border security regulations, which took place in all regions of Saudi Arabia, resulted in the arrest of about 20,896 violators in a week, including 11,930 violators of the residency system, 5,649 violators of the border security system, and 3,317 violators of the labor system.
A security statement stated that the total number of those arrested while trying to cross the border into the Kingdom reached 1,374 people, 43% of whom were Yemeni nationals, 55% Ethiopian nationalities, and 02% other nationalities. Also, 107 people were arrested for trying to cross the borders outside the Kingdom in a manner Irregular.
The results showed the arrest of 24 people involved in transporting, harboring, and employing violators of the residency, work, and border security regulations and covering up for them, while the total number of those subjected to procedures for implementing the regulations reached 16,653 violating expatriates, including 14,726 men and 1,927 women.
The joint field campaigns referred 8,251 violators to their diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents, referred 2,626 violators to complete their travel reservations, and deported 11,774 violators.
The Saudi Ministry of Interior confirmed that anyone who facilitates the entry of violators of the border security system into the Kingdom, transports them within it, provides them with shelter, or provides them with any assistance or service in any way, exposes himself to penalties of up to 15 years in prison, and a fine of up to One million riyals, and the confiscation of the means of transportation and housing used for shelter, in addition to defamation of him. She explained that this crime is considered a major crime that requires arrest and is against honor and trust, urging people to report any cases of violations to the number (911) in the regions of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Riyadh, and Al-Sharqiyah, and ( 999) and (996) in the rest of the Kingdom’s regions.
