An official circular issued by the Office of Public Works and Roads in the Rasd Yafa District gave instructions to stop construction on establishing a Salafist religious center in the district.
According to the circular circulated by activists on social media platforms, the Public Works Office called on those in charge of establishing the center to stop work on it as soon as they received the circular, until an appropriate solution is agreed upon that does not cause any problems with others.
He added that this circular comes out of concern for unity of ranks and to avoid any things that cause strife between different regions.
He concluded by warning that if the circular is not responded to, those in charge of the religious center will be subject to legal action.
It is worth noting that a Salafist group in Yafa had begun developing a project to build a Salafist religious center in the village of Mikael in the Al-Saadi area, Yafa’a Monitoring Directorate, a few days ago, to raise widespread controversy among people in the region and Yafa in general.
Opinions were divided between opponents who rejected the idea so that a copy of the centers that were in Saada would not be repeated, and a division occurred in them, and agendas emerged for some, including political ones, while those in charge of the project, including Commander Abu Haroun Al-Yafei, justified the establishment of this project, which they said was a mosque and accessories for teaching Islamic law. While many called for calm, not to raise any disputes over it, and to delay the project so that it does not cause division and strife in the region.
