A girl in her twenties died as a result of being injected with a foreign substance in a medical clinic in the capital, Sanaa.
Local sources said a girl named Aya died after being exposed to a used syringe, with a foreign substance, in a clinic on Hayel Street in Sanaa.
The sources explained that the girl was suffering from a “sandworm” in her head and the doctor prescribed her an antibiotic, and after a few days of using it, she went to change the “butterfly” in a nearby clinic, and after installing the new butterfly, the nurse tried it, with a used syringe, from another patient. And she was injected with a medication not intended for her, without the knowledge of her mother, who was with her.
The sources added that the girl, “Aya,” felt difficulty breathing, immediately after she was exposed to the injection, and instead of saving her, the nurse refused to do anything to save her, and asked the mother to help her daughter, but the girl died after she was transferred to a hospital, which refused to receive her easily. As a result of her condition relapsing almost completely.
The sources confirmed that attempts to resuscitate the girl failed, for a whole day, in the hospital, due to the loss of oxygen to the brain and heart, and she died as a result of the fatal medical error.
The sources demanded that the clinic and the nurse responsible be held accountable for the crime, which caused the loss of the life of a girl who came to it in full health.
