Mabkhout bin Madi, Governor of Hadhramaut, discussed today, Wednesday, with the Director of the United Nations Population Office, John Paul Omurungi, the progress of interventions supported by the United Nations Population Fund in the governorate.
The meeting discussed implementing projects for youth and building youth incubators through multiple programs to build their capabilities. It also touched on preparations for approving the establishment of a youth center in the city of Mukalla with the support of the friendly Netherlands embassy.
United Nations interventions include supporting youth and reproductive health centers in a number of districts, in addition to providing safe spaces for women and establishing centers for family psychological support.
The UN official said that the positive atmosphere witnessed in Hadhramaut, thanks to the existing state of security and stability, contributed to building close relations with the local authority and implementing sustainable projects in the governorate, and studying providing the necessary support for future projects.
The meeting reviewed projects to support midwives in remote areas in the field of reproductive health, paying attention to maternal and child health by supporting obstetric emergency departments, and providing opportunities to improve the living conditions of families with limited income.
