The head of the National Committee to Investigate Allegations of Human Rights Violations discussed, today, Tuesday, with representatives of the judicial authority in Hadramaut Governorate, human rights developments in the governorate, frameworks of cooperation between the two sides, challenges facing judicial work, and ways to overcome them.
The head of the National Committee, Judge Ahmed Al-Muflihi, along with the committee member, Judge Nasser Al-Awadali, reviewed with representatives of the judiciary in the governorate the conditions of a number of files that the National Committee is following up, verified the legal conditions of a number of detainees, and documented recommendations to be submitted to the leadership of the judicial authority.
For his part, the head of the Hadhramaut Court of Appeal, Judge Muhammad Sabiti, welcomed the visit of the National Investigation Committee team to Hadhramaut Governorate, and reviewed with the committee team the nature of the cases being considered by the court, the difficulties facing the judiciary in the governorate, and ways to facilitate litigation procedures, provide justice to the victims, and hold those responsible accountable.
For his part, the head of the Specialized Criminal Prosecution, Judge Shaker Bensh, touched on the steps of judicial work during the recent period, noting that due to the increase in cases this year, the number of prisoners in the Central Correctional Facility increased, in light of the scarcity of capabilities and the lack of support allocated to the Central Correctional Facility.
The meeting was attended by members of the governorate’s criminal division, Judge Khaled Marhi and Judge Muhammad bin Rabid.
