More than 200 Yemenis stranded in Russia, for 36 days, issued a statement to the Yemeni authorities to save them from the catastrophic situation they are facing after they were deceived and sent to the battlefields in Ukraine instead of the work promised to them in advance.
The statement said that dozens of Yemenis traveled through the “Al-Jabri” company, headed by a member of the House of Representatives, Abdul Mawla Al-Jabri, with the participation of Muhammad Al-Olayani and Hani Al-Zariqi, based on prior work contracts, but they found themselves forced to participate in the fighting under duress and in the middle of the war. Difficult and complex circumstances.
The statement added that this situation has claimed the lives of some Yemenis and injured others, in addition to the inhumane conditions in which they live in Russia, where they are subjected to harsh treatment in a difficult environment in which the minimum requirements of life are not met.
The statement added: “We We face the threat of death every day, and we hold everyone responsible for this tragedy who was a partner in this scheme that took advantage of our circumstances to throw us into a war that we had nothing to do with.”
The statement called for an urgent investigation to be opened and those responsible and collaborators in this behavior that violates the law and morals to be held accountable, calling on the Yemeni embassy in Russia to take a serious stance and coordinate with the relevant authorities to secure their safety and return them to Yemen in peace and security.
The statement renewed their appeal to the Yemeni government to intervene immediately and take all necessary measures to ensure their return to Yemen and save them from this tragic situation, while they called on the Russian authorities to respond to their appeals and intervene to help them return to Yemen.
