Citizens in Al-Rawda District in Shabwa Governorate said that a new leak in a crude oil pipeline appeared in some areas of the district.

Citizens in the village of Al-Safat, near Al-Majaza Junction, explained that quantities of crude oil appeared on the surface near their homes, in addition to other agricultural areas in Ghail Ibn Habtoor.

They confirmed that the oil spill causes chronic diseases, in addition to environmental pollution in agricultural areas, and they called on the competent authorities to intervene quickly to stop it and address its effects.

According to the testimony of specialists in the region, the crude oil transport pipeline has not been maintained for more than thirty years, except for some limited repairs that did not end the problem.
