Press sources said yesterday that senior Houthi leaders in the group left their homes in the capital, Sanaa, to unknown places after receiving intelligence warnings against the backdrop of American threats following their targeting of an American warship off the Yemeni coast.
The sources said that the Houthi leaders in Sanaa left their homes after receiving warnings from the Houthi Security and Intelligence Service that they would be targeted with raids.
The sources added that the Houthi leaders left for unknown places, their children were absent from going to schools and universities, and others abstained from going to work.
The sources confirmed that the Houthi leaders did not remain in their homes in Sanaa, except for members of the guard, for fear of expected raids, and that most of them left Sanaa, heading to Saada.
The American newspaper The Washington Post leaked information about the White House’s intentions to direct military strikes against Iranian proxies after repeatedly targeting American forces in Iraq, Syria and Yemen to put an end to targeting American interests in the region.
