Parents of students at the Vocational Complex for People with Special Needs in the city of Mansoura in the capital, Aden, accused the complex’s administration of intentionally obstructing and neglecting the students’ education.
Sources said that the administration practices abuse against contract employees, and refuses to pay salaries owed to them for several months, even though some of them have worked in the complex for more than twenty years.
The sources added that the administration takes advantage of students with special needs, inviting them to the complex to photograph them and distributing quantities of dates to them, without providing them with any educational services.
For his part, one of the parents said that the complex’s administration had completely suspended studies, despite receiving support from donors and organizations with the aim of operating the complex and continuing teaching.
The guardian added that the complex’s administration took advantage of the donors’ support to pay the salaries of the complex’s administrators, without providing any educational services to the students, or disbursing incentives due to the contractors.
The parents called for the intervention of the competent authorities to end these practices and guarantee the students’ right to education.
The teachers of the complex had asked President Al-Zubaidi a year ago to enable them to take up their jobs that had previously been approved by the Ministry of Civil Service and the Ministry of Finance in the year 2018 AD, and they numbered 44 jobs for contractors in the vocational complex for people with special needs, and they did not obtain any rights that they considered due to them.
