As part of the Public Prosecution’s keenness to guarantee the rights of detainees and enhance transparency, this morning Judge Yahya Nasser Al-Shuaibi, Chief of the North Aden Appeals Prosecution, accompanied by a number of members of the Public Prosecution and its agents, made an inspection visit to the Criminal Investigation Prison in Aden.
The visit aimed to determine the conditions of the detainees and verify the legality of their imprisonment. They were received by the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, Brigadier General Naji Al-Marfadi, who provided a detailed explanation about the work procedures in the prison and the most prominent developments related to the situation of detainees.
During the visit, Judge Al-Shuaibi inspected the places of detention in the various wards to review the conditions of the prisoners and verify the legality of their imprisonment. He also listened to the prisoners’ statements and complaints, and went to the women’s prison to hear their cases and ensure the speedy legal procedures related to them.
Judge Al-Shuaibi directed the Director of Criminal Investigation to quickly send the priorities related to the requests to the Public Prosecution and the courts, in order to speed up the necessary legal procedures.
This visit comes within the framework of the ongoing efforts made by the Public Prosecution to enhance transparency and protect the rights of detainees, ensuring that the legal authorities adhere to all legal and humanitarian standards.
