The Community Protection and Development Support Foundation (CPDS), under the generous patronage of His Excellency the Minister of State and Governor of the Capital, Aden, Mr. Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, concluded an expanded workshop that discussed ways to enhance cooperation and make optimal use of the grants provided in light of the challenges facing the country.
The workshop lasted two days, and witnessed broad participation from various sectors, including representatives of government departments, international organizations, civil society, and the media. The discussions centered on coordination mechanisms between these parties, and how to make the most of the resources available to serve the community.
Aqdar Mokhtar, President of the CPDS Foundation, stressed the importance of this workshop in building effective partnerships between various parties, noting that the ultimate goal is to achieve sustainable development in the country. It called for establishing clear mechanisms to coordinate efforts and benefit from international expertise.
For his part, the Undersecretary of Aden Governorate for Youth Affairs, Abdul Raouf Al-Saqqaf, stressed the necessity of concerted efforts and unifying visions to achieve sustainable development, especially in light of the difficult circumstances that the country is going through. The Advisor to the Governor of Aden for International Organization Affairs, Redha Hajib, also stressed the importance of effective partnership between the local authority, international organizations and civil society.
The workshop witnessed the presentation of many research papers that addressed various aspects related to the grants provided, the mechanisms for benefiting from them, and the challenges facing this field. Participants pointed out the importance of building institutional capacities, enhancing transparency, and developing strategic plans to achieve sustainable development goals.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the participants came up with several important recommendations, including the necessity of forming a civil coalition representing all civil society organizations, and working to establish clear mechanisms for coordination and cooperation between the various concerned parties.
This coalition aims to unify visions and efforts, and put pressure on decision makers to allocate the necessary resources to implement development projects, and make the most of the grants provided.
