The security services in Al-Mahra Governorate were able to arrest five promoters in two different operations who trade and promote prohibited and narcotic substances, in Al-Ghaydah District.
Captain Muhammad Saad Makhbal (Deputy Director of the Control Department) explained that the first operation came after monitoring and tracking the movements of two suspicious people, as the first suspect brought contraband from outside Al-Ghaidah, and after intensive monitoring, investigation and surveillance, the two people were arrested on the Al-Ghaidah Corniche during the receiving and delivery process. They were in possession of half a kilo of shabu and a kilo of hashish, two narcotic drugs. They were then taken to the Narcotics Control Department to complete the legal procedures to be referred to the competent authority to receive the deterrent penalty.
Makhbal explained that in the second operation, three other people were found in possession of two kilograms of narcotic hashish after receiving a report from the people of Haffat al-Sada in al-Ghaydah, and they were transferred to the Narcotics Control Department to take the necessary legal measures.
Makhbal thanked the citizens for their high sense of security and their cooperation with the control men and for informing them of an important issue.
