A European Union delegation was briefed today on the progress of work on a project to build a collection water tank in the Isthmus area in the capital, Aden, at a cost of two million and 749 thousand euros, funded by the German Development Bank and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The delegation, which included the Deputy Ambassador of the Netherlands, Merike Werde, the Deputy Ambassador of France, Aymeric Peu Vaillant, and the First Secretary of the Norwegian Embassy, Andreas Thomsen, learned from the Director General of the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation in Aden Governorate, Engineer Muhammad Bakhbira, today, about the progress of the work carried out in The project implemented by the Social Fund for Development through Dome International included soil examination work and the construction of the iron tank base with a capacity of 18 thousand cubic meters.
The European Union delegation was also briefed on the status of water service in Aden Governorate, and the challenges and difficulties faced by the Aden Water Corporation in order to provide water service.
The delegation stressed the European Union's keenness to implement such strategic projects, including the water tank construction project, which will contribute to enhancing the ability of the Aden Water Corporation to supply citizens with water in Aden Governorate.
