The Governor of Hodeidah Governorate, Dr. Al-Hassan Taher, today, Tuesday, signed a contract to implement a 10-megawatt solar energy station project in Al-Khawkhah District.
With the generous support of the United Arab Emirates and the sponsorship of Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Tariq Saleh.
Governor Taher, along with the Second Deputy Head of the Political Bureau of the National Resistance, Brigadier General Abdul-Jabbar Al-Zahzouh, handed over to the executing company the site designated for establishing the project, urging its completion within the specified time period of ten months, and with the same specified specifications and standards.
This project comes within the framework of Tariq Saleh’s efforts aimed at strengthening the energy sector and providing electricity to citizens, especially in light of the challenges facing the sector.
It is expected that about 15,000 families will benefit from the clean energy that this station will produce, which will contribute to reducing carbon emissions and enhancing environmental sustainability.
The project includes a 33 kilovolt substation, with all its basic components, 30 inverters, 15,800 solar panels with a capacity of 620 watts per panel, and a 5-kilometre-long aerial transmission line with a capacity of 33 kilovolts. The project will also provide job opportunities for 300 individuals from Local community.
