The General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs in Aden, today, Wednesday, directed international passenger transport companies to stop their flights by land to Saudi Arabia through the Al-Wadiah port.
The authority indicated in the circular that was widely published that it would stop its flights through the Al-Wadeaa port, on Friday and Saturday, corresponding to 15-16 of this November.
The authority attributed the suspension decision to “the overcrowding occurring at the port of Al-Wadiah and the Al-Abr area at the present time, and in order to alleviate the suffering of citizens.”
It confirmed that legal measures would be taken against the violating companies and that their flights would be permanently stopped.
The decision comes one day after the administration of the Al-Wadiah land port in Hadhramaut Governorate canceled the amount of 10 Saudi riyals that the Passport Department at the land port continued to collect - illegally - from travelers over a period of 12 years.
The Al-Wadiah land port is witnessing severe congestion to the point of overcrowding, which has doubled the suffering of Yemeni travelers leaving for and leaving the territory of Saudi Arabia, due to the slow procedures of ports of entry and the overcrowding of buses at the only port into the country, after the militia war closed a number of land ports with Saudi Arabia
