The Crater Police arrested an accused of stealing gold jewelry worth 150 grams from one of the apartments located in the Al-Wajabat Building on Saffron Street.
The Crater Police Director, Colonel Nabil Amer, said that the Crater Police arrested the accused (H.M.A.) because he was accused of the crime of stealing gold jewelry, after which he burned the apartment of one of his relatives and fled, which is located in the Duties Building.
Colonel Amer added that the family reported the loss of gold jewelry they had in their possession after the fire in the apartment was extinguished, while the security services took legal measures and searched and investigated those who frequented the apartment and by monitoring the surveillance cameras that helped identify the accused.
He pointed out that the security services identified the accused and arrested him. Immediately upon interrogation, he confessed to committing the crime of theft before burning the apartment, in addition to his confession to stealing jewelry from the apartment during the recent period.
The police director confirmed that the accused was in possession of part of the stolen jewelry, and a report was opened to investigate him regarding the crime, and as soon as investigations are completed, he will be transferred to the competent authorities.
