The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning expects cold to very cold weather in a number of governorates, and sea turbulence due to high-speed winds during the next 24 hours.
The center stated in its weather bulletin that it expects cold to very cold weather during the late hours of the night and early morning in various areas of the governorates of Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, Al-Bayda and the highlands west of Saada and Al-Jawf, where minimum temperatures range between 02 - 05. The weather is likely to be cold in the highlands of Ibb, Al Dhalea, Lahj and Abyan governorates, with minimum temperatures ranging between 06 - 09 degrees Celsius.
High-speed winds are expected to reach a maximum speed of 30 knots in the southern Red Sea, the entrance to Bab al-Mandab, and the western Gulf of Aden.
The center reported that the lowest temperatures recorded at some weather monitoring stations this morning reached 4.4 in Dhamar, 4.5 in Sanaa, 5.5 in Ibb, and 7.4 in Amran.
He called on citizens to take the necessary precautions against cold and extremely cold weather, especially children, the elderly, and workers during the night and early morning hours.
He urged farmers to take the necessary measures to protect their agricultural crops, as well as beekeepers and livestock herders to shelter them in warm places.
The center warned seafarers, fishermen, and ship captains south of the western coast, the entrance to Bab al-Mandab, and the western Gulf of Aden of sea turbulence and high waves.
