The Union of Writers of the South, Aden Branch, in coordination with the Syndicate of Southern Journalists and Media Professionals, organized on Wednesday morning, November 1, 2023, a morning cultural event entitled (Theatrical director Jamil Mahfouz, a pioneer of modernity and change) at the headquarters of the Syndicate of Southern Journalists and Media Professionals, Al-Tawahi District, The theatrical history of veteran director Jamil Mahfouz was reviewed, through a number of his theatrical works that he presented on local and foreign theater stages.
 A number of stars of creativity and southern theatrical drama spoke at the symposium, including the theater director and professor of theatrical acting at the Jamil Ghanem Institute of Arts. , Abdul Aziz Abbas, the distinguished theatrical actor, artist Fouad Huwaidi, and the Director General of the Culture Office in Aden, Mr. Ahmed bin Ghoudhal, the professor of acting at the Jamil Ghanem Institute, Dr. Abdul Salam Amer, and the research writer, Mr. Najmi Abdel Majeed, about the biography and virtues of the creative director Mahfouz, his history, and his long career with Acting and directing theatrical, television and radio dramas, and his works are comparable to international works through his atypical directorial vision, which has received great acclaim and admiration from theatrical audiences at home and abroad and from a number of Arab and foreign theater critics.

 The attendees also emphasized the necessity of documenting the works of the theater artist Mahfouz, as he was abundant in creativity and poor in money, but he and his colleagues did not fail to provide help and advice.
