Shabwa Governorate Police announced their success in arresting 144 immigrants of different African nationalities, who were on board an illegal immigration boat, which arrived on the coast of “Kida” in Radum District.

Security sources explained that Coast Guard patrols were able to spot the boat and stop it before the migrants could get to shore. The migrants were transferred to a safe place to provide them with the necessary medical care, record their data, and investigate the circumstances of their migration.

He stressed that the security services in the governorate are making great efforts to combat the phenomenon of illegal immigration and protect the Yemeni coasts from smuggling operations. He pointed out that this operation comes within the framework of cooperation between the security services and local authorities.
