200 kilograms of narcotic hashish were seized at a shipping port in Mahra

The customs office at the Shehn port in Al-Mahra Governorate was able, at dawn on Wednesday, to seize 200 kilograms of narcotic hashish, which was hidden inside large tree trunks that had been professionally welded and camouflaged by a specialized gang to smuggle it to a neighboring country on board a large locomotive.
A security source explained that the accused, including the locomotive driver who holds Pakistani nationality, were arrested and transferred with the seized items to the security department of a shipping port to complete the legal procedures, in preparation for transferring the case to the Public Prosecution. The value of the shipment was estimated at about two billion Yemeni riyals.< /p>
The Director General of Security and Police in Al-Mahra Governorate, Brigadier General Mufti Suhail Samouda, praised the efforts of the Customs Office in confronting drug smuggling operations, noting that this organized crime represents a great danger to society.
Brigadier General Samouda confirmed in a special statement to the Al-Mahra Police Media Center that this seizure represents a painful blow to the criminal networks involved in the drug trade, and that the security services will continue their investigations to ensure that the accused are brought before the Public Prosecution and the Criminal Court to receive their just punishment.
Brigadier General Samouda called on all citizens to cooperate with the security services in combating this serious crime that threatens the security and safety of society, stressing the continuation of intensive efforts to pursue and eliminate drug trafficking networks.
