Local sources in the city of Ibb, central Yemen, reported that a girl was killed by a child’s bullets while the latter was tampering with a firearm.
The sources reported that a girl from the “Al Sufyan” family was killed in a weapon-tampering incident in the village of Al-Khami in Al-Sayyani District, south of Ibb Governorate.
She explained that the girl's brother - a child - was fiddling with a gun in their house, and while the girl tried to take it from him, a bullet fired from it, killing her instantly.
The governorate witnessed many similar incidents, which led to the death and injury of dozens in various districts as a result of the widespread phenomenon of carrying weapons.
A young man named “Safir Hadi Ali,” 20 years old from the “Naqeeb” family, was killed last November by a bullet fired by a thirteen-year-old boy from the “Al-Jahdari family” named “Abdo Sadiq Ali Ahmed” in the “Al-Aqr” village of the Jableh District, south of Ibb city. While they were together with others in a guard room on a qat farm.
Sources confirmed that the incident occurred as a result of tampering with the weapon.
