A civilian was killed and another injured in a landmine explosion south of Hodeidah

Local sources reported that two civilians were killed and injured in the explosion of a mine attributed to the Houthi group in Hodeidah Governorate, western Yemen.
The Hodeidah Governorate Information Office said in a post on its official Facebook page that a civilian was killed and another injured, as a result of the explosion of a landmine “left behind by the Houthi group,” on Friday, in the Al-Suwaydiyah area of Al-Khawkhah District, south of Hodeidah Governorate.< /p>
He added that the mine exploded while the two victims were passing through the area, resulting in the immediate death of one of them and the other being seriously injured, as a result of which he was transferred to the field hospital in the city of Al-Khawkhah to receive treatment.
The Information Office indicated that "the landmines planted by the Houthi group in residential areas and public roads are considered one of the most prominent threats facing civilians in Hodeidah Governorate, and have caused thousands of deaths and injuries."
