The Jardan Court of First Instance issues a death sentence for a person convicted of murder

The Jardan Court of First Instance in Shabwa Governorate held its session this morning, Monday, December 9, 2024, headed by Judge Saeed Talib bin Lajda, in the presence of the Deputy Prosecutor of Armaa and Jardan, Judge Nasser bin Nasser Al-Amri, and the presence of the Secretary of the Court, Muhammad Al-Rifai, and the blood relatives of the victim, Omar. Salem Al-Sakka, and lawyer Ali Hassan Al-Haddad, appointed by the court for the accused.
The court issued its ruling in Criminal Case No. 5 of 2024 AD (CC), the Armaa and Jardan Primary Prosecution, charging Ahmed Mubarak Abdullah Al-Hamis with the murder of the victim, Omar Salem Al-Sakka.
The court’s ruling stated the following:
First: Convicting the accused, Ahmed Mubarak Abdullah Al-Hamis, of the charge attributed to him in the indictment.
Second: The convict shall be punished with death by firing squad until death.
Third: The right to appeal within the legal period.
It is worth noting that last month, the Jardan Court of First Instance issued a number of rulings in narcotic hashish cases, convicting the accused, punishing each of them with five years’ imprisonment, and confiscating and destroying the hashish seized by the Public Prosecution.
