A fire engulfs a camp for displaced people in Abyan

A large fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon in a camp for displaced people in the “Miklan” area in the Khanfar District of Abyan Governorate, resulting from an electrical short circuit.
Which resulted in the complete destruction of tents, nests, and food and shelter contents, leaving the displaced people homeless.
The fire cast a dark shadow on the lives of the camp residents, who lost everything they owned.
In the wake of this tragic incident, officials and activists sent an urgent appeal to the local authority in the governorate, and to the Executive Unit for the Management of Displaced Persons’ Camps, in addition to international and relief organizations and people with compassionate hearts, urging them to visit the camp and learn about the conditions of the displaced.
Activists also called for urgent support of shelter and relief materials, including tents and food, to alleviate the suffering of affected families and ensure that they return to their normal situation as much as possible.
