Expansion began on large parts of the Great Aden Park, located in the Al-Arish area, the last outlet in the city, after it was illegally distributed to a merchant.
Local activists said that they had recently seen leveling work on the land located in the largest part of the park, with the aim of converting it into plots of land for sale.
The responsible authorities refused to reveal the name of the investor to whom the land was allocated, but activists said that it was the Land Authority that made the allocation.
Activists considered this step a crime against the city, and called on the responsible authorities to take the necessary measures to stop encroachment on the park.
Influential parties began trying to seize the park’s plan, claiming that they had housing associations that had been paid to them by official authorities.
It is worth noting that the Great Aden Park, or what is known as Al-Arish Amusement Park, is owned by the Fund for Cleaning and Improvement of the City of Aden according to the plan implementation form (identifying the streets drained from state lands and real estate, Neighborhood Unit 633, and its total area is 1,155,000 million and one hundred and fifty-five thousand square meters, The General Administration of the Aden Cleaning and Improvement Fund has the right to take the necessary legal measures to protect its fixed assets.
The Fund had warned the contractors against trying to enter into the garden plan or expand it, and they would be subject to accountability, according to a warning published by the Fund years ago.
