A security source in the Taiz Governorate Police explained the measures taken regarding the death of citizen Anwar Mansour Abdo Zaid, who died while being detained at the Asifra Police Station.

The source indicated that the Director General of Taiz Governorate Police, Brigadier General Mansour Al-Akhali, directed, upon receiving the report, the formation of a forensic team to go to the site of the incident and take urgent measures that included arresting the director, officers and members of the department, along with the person responsible for the detention, and referring them for investigation and taking Necessary administrative procedures.

The security source confirmed that the governorate police have completed all administrative procedures, and that the case is being followed up by the Public Prosecution and the Criminal Investigation Department to complete the legal investigations.

The source also called on all media outlets, activists, and social media pioneers to be accurate and not be drawn into rumors and news circulated from unofficial sources, stressing the importance of obtaining information from official sources only and waiting for the results of investigations.

At the end of the statement, he stressed that the governorate police will work to clarify the facts related to the case as soon as the legal procedures are completed.
