Efforts made by the Governor of Lahj, Major General Ahmed Abdullah Turki, military and civilian leaders, and sheikhs, succeeded yesterday in concluding an agreement between the Al-Atira and Al-Khalifa tribes in Al-Sabiha, establishing a truce between the two tribes for a period of two years, starting from the date of signing the agreement, following an armed conflict between the two tribes that resulted in deaths. A press release issued after the meeting stated that the agreement came after a series of meetings between the sheikhs and notables of the Al-Atira and Al-Khalifa tribes, sensing the responsibility to stop the bloodshed between the brothers, members of the Al-Atira and Al-Khalifa tribes, in which a number of members of the Al-Ataira tribe were recently killed and wounded at the hands of members of the Al-Atira tribe. In the area of ​​"Al-Qadi Village" and the repercussions that resulted from that event, the Al-Khalifa tribe took action in response through several measures to pressure the Al-Atira tribe to take a position on its sons accused of the recent murder.

The communication indicated that due to the failure of the defendants in the recent killing incident of the people of Al-Atira to comply with the sheikhs of the tribe to surrender themselves, and through consultation between the sheikhs and chiefs of the Al-Atira tribe among themselves, to take a position to protect and secure Al-Atri in general, with the exception of the accused who are fleeing from justice in the recent killing in the area. “Qadhi Village” and during the meeting of the sheikhs of Al-Atira with the conservative brother Ahmed Abdullah Turki, Sheikh Hamdi Shukri, Sheikh Abd Rabbuh Al-Mahwali, and Sheikh Ali Ahmed Qasim Al-Sayili, the sheikhs of Al-Atira agreed “with God’s pledge to abandon the accused and not shelter them, cover them up, or stand by them, leaving the matter to the security and judicial authorities.” And blood guardians.”

1 - A truce between the two tribes for a period of two years, starting from the date of signing the agreement.

2 - The previous case between the two tribes, in which Younis Al-Atari and Al-Anbari Al-Khalifi were killed, is referred to tribal custom, and the two tribes must choose whomever they deem appropriate to resolve the case, whether from the sheikhs of Al-Sabiha or another figure from outside Al-Sabiha.

3 - With regard to the recent case that took place in the “Qaryat Al-Qadi”, in which Sheikh Faris Al-Khulaifi and two others were killed, and others were also injured, this case is referred to the security and judicial authorities, taking into consideration that the Al-Atira tribe is currently not passing through the “Al-Fajra” line for a temporary period.

The Subaiha tribes praised the spirit of responsibility of the sheikhs of the Al-Atira and Al-Khalifa tribes through the use of reason and logic in sparing the blood of innocent people, with the exception of those accused in the recent killing, praising the efforts of Governor Ahmed Abdullah Turki, Sheikh Abd Rabbuh Ghanem Al-Mahwali, Deputy Minister of Technical Education and Vocational Training, and Sheikh Hamdi Shukri, Commander of the Second Brigade.
