Urgent interventions from Riyadh to raise the performance of the electricity network in Aden

The Director General of the General Electricity Corporation, Mr. Mujeeb Ahmed Hazem Al-Shaabi, discussed in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, with the representative of the Saudi Program for the Reconstruction of Yemen, Engineer Abdul Rahman Al-Rub’, ways to support the Saudi program for the electricity sector in Yemen.
In the meeting that was held on Wednesday at the headquarters of the Saudi Program for the Reconstruction of Yemen in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, it included the Director General of the General Electricity Corporation, Mr. Mujib Al-Shaabi, the Director General of Foreign Funded Projects, Engineer Muhammad Fahd, and from the Saudi side, the representative of the Saudi Program for the Reconstruction of Yemen, Engineer Abdul Al-Rahman Al-Rab’ and a number of advisors and specialists. With regard to Aden Governorate, the meeting discussed the status of the electricity network and the urgent interventions required to raise the performance of the electricity network in Aden. p>In the meeting, the proposals submitted by the consulting company were discussed to improve and develop the network in Aden in preparation for next summer. The Director General stressed the need to begin urgent interventions that would improve the electricity service in the governorate, remove bottlenecks, and reduce the deficit and losses. The Director General of the Electricity Corporation and his accompanying delegation also discussed with the officials of the Saudi program the procedures for conducting the tender for the Taiz station, which is funded by the program, since the Taiz governorate suffers from the lack of government electricity service to alleviate the suffering of citizens for years. The representative of the Saudi program promised that it would be Announcing the company to which the tender will be awarded next January 2025.
With regard to the governorates of Hadramaut, Lahj, Al-Dhalea and Abyan, Al-Shaabi’s research with the Saudi Program for the Reconstruction of Yemen intervened in the Saudi program to recover and enhance the capacity of each of the electrical power stations, as well as establishing the electrical networks and projects required for these governorates. The program promised to include some of these projects in its plan for the coming years.< /p>
At the end of the meeting, the Director General of the General Electricity Corporation, Mr. Mujib Al-Shaabi, delivered a speech in which he thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the brotherly Saudi people for their generous support for Yemen in various fields. Especially their support in the electricity sector, Al-Shaabi said, “We look forward to greater support and intervention from the government of His Majesty King Salman, may God protect him and our shepherds, to solve the electricity problem in Yemen once and for all, and all efforts are being made to support and stabilize Yemen in various fields.
Al-Shaabi also thanked all the efforts made by the Saudi Program for the Reconstruction of Yemen and those responsible for it in supporting the electricity sector.
