Fishermen in Sayhut District, Al-Mahra Governorate, today, Monday, blocked the main road in protest against the random dredging and logging that threaten the fishery revolution in the district.
The fishermen called on the authorities and responsible authorities to stop tampering with the fishing process, which has greatly affected the level of fishermen’s income at a time when fishermen are going through harsh conditions due to these negative phenomena.
The fishermen explained that random dredging and shelling lead to the destruction of coral reefs and fish wealth sources, thus endangering the fishing profession.
They pointed out that these negative phenomena cause huge losses to fishermen, as they lead to a significant decrease in the amount of catch, which leads to a decrease in the level of income.
The fishermen appealed to the authorities and responsible authorities to take the necessary measures to stop these negative phenomena and protect the fish wealth in Sayhut District.
