A meeting in Aden discusses the new regulations to organize land protection work

A meeting held today, chaired by the Minister of State and Governor of Aden, Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, discussed the work regulation between the Public Works Offices, the Cleaning Fund, and the Land and Plans Protection Unit, in a way that ensures strengthening coordination between the authorities responsible for implementing laws and regulations, and preventing abuses or violations. Interventions within its jurisdictions, and deterring violators and transgressors.
The meeting, which included general directors of government directorates, institutions and offices, stressed the importance of strengthening law and order, confronting encroachments that affect urban development, and the local authority’s commitment to providing a stable environment for implementing development projects and ensuring the protection of citizens’ rights and public property.
The meeting reviewed the proposed regulations, which aim to regulate the relationship between the three parties to achieve integrated roles in controlling construction operations, combating random construction, preventing land exploitation, and ensuring compliance with the laws regulating construction in urban areas and approved plans.
The meeting indicated that the application of penalties and fines for building violations in urban areas and plans is in accordance with the provisions of Building Law No. (19) of 2002, the Cleanliness Law and the relevant executive regulations.
The meeting stressed that this regulation comes within the framework of efforts to enhance the protection of urban planning and prevent random construction, in order to achieve sustainable development in Aden and support compliance with the laws regulating urban and environmental work.
