Five heroes of the Fifth Infantry Brigade were martyred in an armed ambush in Abyan Governorate

Five heroes of the Fifth Infantry Brigade, led by Brigadier General Bakil Idris Al-Kalouli, were martyred at dawn today in a treacherous operation carried out by gunmen believed to belong to Al-Qaeda, on the international line between the areas of Ahwar and Khobar Al-Maraqsha in Abyan Governorate.
Local sources reported that the gunmen intercepted the soldiers and took two cars from them, in addition to weapons and sums of money they were in possession of. The attack occurred while soldiers were passing through an area witnessing security tensions.
According to the sources only, the following were: Ali Idris Al-Kalouli, Dhiab Seif, and Ali Ghobri, in addition to two other martyrs whose identities have not yet been determined. Among the martyrs was Ali Idris Al-Kalouli, brother of the commander of the Fifth Brigade, Brigadier General Bakil Idris Al-Kalouli, who commands the stationed brigade in Mayfa’a District, Shabwa Governorate.
