A member of the Presidential Command Council, Major General Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, received today the Ambassador of the Republic of Djibouti to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Diaa Al-Din Bamakhrama, to discuss coordinating security efforts between the two countries in a way that would maintain international peace and security, combat maritime piracy, and protect international navigation in the strategic sea lane. .

Major General Al-Zubaidi welcomed Ambassador Bamakhrama...praising the established fraternal relations between the two countries...stressing the importance of strengthening and consolidating these historical relations in a way that serves the interests of the two brotherly countries.

The meeting discussed the latest developments in the humanitarian and political situation in Yemen in light of the rapid developments taking place in the region and in light of the continued escalation practiced by the terrorist Houthi militias in the international shipping lines in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab and the Gulf of Aden.

Major General Al-Zubaidi stressed the importance of the role played by the Republic of Djibouti in coordinating the joint positions of the countries overlooking the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden to ensure the security of the international shipping lane, and to coordinate cooperation between Arab and African countries in the region.

Major General Al-Zubaidi praised the great humanitarian role provided by the sisterly Republic of Djibouti in hosting the displaced Yemenis on its lands. He expressed his appreciation to the Djiboutian government and its people for the efforts made to alleviate the suffering of the displaced and provide them with the necessary support in light of the difficult circumstances that our country is going through.

For his part, Ambassador Bamakhrama reiterated Djibouti’s position of support for the Presidential Command Council, and its readiness to provide all means of support to restore stability to Yemen and bring peace to the region in general.
