The people of Lahj Governorate expressed their fears about the spread of malaria and other fever diseases as a result of the onset of winter and the proliferation of mosquitoes that transmit these diseases.
Local sources in Al-Houta and Tuban districts said that health centers and dispensaries recorded a number of cases whose symptoms appear to be indicative of the presence of malaria among citizens, after it was observed that mosquitoes were present in different locations and regions and that they were multiplying due to the presence of swamps and ponds in which mosquito larvae are active.
The people called on the Public Health Office and the leadership of the governorate and the directorate to deploy fogging and fogging teams to residential neighbourhoods, areas and villages in the districts to prevent the proliferation of disease-carrying mosquitoes and fill the hotspots that constitute a suitable environment for them, and to deploy health awareness teams to citizens and urge them not to leave open water tanks and to close them tightly. Water does not remain in open pots and vessels for a long time, which is considered a reason for the presence of mosquito larvae that transmit malaria, dengue fever, and other diseases. Other diets.
