The National Cancer Control Foundation in Ibb Governorate confirmed that 800 new cases of cancer were recorded in various directorates of the governorate during the current year 2024.
This came during the National Cancer Control Foundation’s launch of a new appeal to save hundreds of cancer patients, in Ibb Governorate, coinciding with the near exhaustion of medicines for cancer patients from the Foundation’s Hope Unit.
The Foundation called, in a statement, to quickly intervene and save the lives of 7,095 cases of cancer, the majority of whom are from the poorest families, as the Foundation provides them with medical treatment and care.
According to the statement, the number of new patients at the Al-Amal Center for Oncology Treatment in Ibb Governorate reached 800 cases during the year 2024 AD, indicating that these numbers carry the institution with many consequences and several challenges represented in the lack of support and scarcity of revenues, at a time when it lacks sources of stable support. Which puts the institution in a very critical situation.
The statement indicated that the institution is no longer able to provide all health services, which requires the support of the institution by the relevant authorities, organizations, and businessmen in order to allow it to continue providing its diagnostic and therapeutic health services to cancer patients.
