The Communication and Political Awareness Promotion Team of the Southern Transitional Council, headed by a member of the Presidency, Sheikh Abdul Rahman Jalal Abdul Qawi, today, Tuesday, made an inspection visit to the Security Department, the Immigration, Passports and Nationality Authority, and the Civil Status Authority in Socotra Governorate.
During their visit to the security administration, the team was briefed by Brigadier General Ali Muhammad Al-Daksmi, Director General of the Governorate Police, on the most prominent challenges facing the security services, most notably the irregular disbursement of salaries of security personnel and the lack of financial liquidity, which constitutes an obstacle to providing basic needs and supporting performance. The communication team praised the vital role played by the Security Department, stressing the need for concerted governmental and local efforts to find sustainable solutions that contribute to enhancing public security, as it is the basis of sustainable development in Socotra Governorate.
The team heard from the Director of the Immigration, Passports and Nationality Department, Captain Ahmed Muhammad Al-Ma’awali, about the services provided to citizens, and the great difficulties in obtaining identification documents in the past due to the lack of capabilities and the absence of basic equipment. Al-Ma’awali indicated that these problems were overcome thanks to the efforts of the governorate’s leadership, which I worked to provide the necessary needs.
The team appreciated the development witnessed by the department, stressing the importance of continuing to improve its work to ensure the smooth and effective provision of services to all citizens.
The team also reviewed, during its inspection tour, the work progress of the Civil Status Authority and the services it provides, including issuing birth certificates and personal cards, praising the improvements that have occurred in the authority’s performance, including modernizing work mechanisms and accelerating transactions, which reflects its commitment to meeting the needs of citizens.
