The activities of the Knowledge Exchange Forum, which was held under the patronage of the Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Major General Sultan bin Ali Al-Arada, concluded in Ma’rib Governorate, over a period of three days.
The forum, which was held under the slogan, “Towards a knowledge partnership to promote sustainable development,” witnessed the participation of representatives from five governorates: Al-Mahra, Hadramaut (the valley and the coast), Shabwa, Aden, and Ma’rib, along with a group of researchers, academics, and representatives of the public sectors. Private and civil society organizations.
The forum discussed three main topics, including education, revenue development, and enhancing the investment environment, where working papers, international experiences, and the experiences of the participating governorates were reviewed.
The forum also witnessed, according to its final statement, intensive discussion sessions and workshops that focused on innovative solutions and practical recommendations.
The forum came out with recommendations, most notably in the field of education, developing infrastructure, providing operational budgets for faltering projects, updating school curricula to meet education needs, in addition to improving the conditions of teachers, increasing their salaries, and supporting e-learning through the use of modern technology.
In the field of revenue development, participants recommended the need to improve tax and customs collection mechanisms, enhance transparency, and use technology in financial collection systems, in addition to expanding cooperation with the private sector to diversify revenue sources.
In the field of enhancing the investment environment, participants called for improving the infrastructure necessary for investment, and updating investment laws in a way that protects investors’ rights and encourages investment, in addition to providing investment incentives and strengthening partnerships between the public and private sectors.
At the conclusion of the forum, the participants praised the efforts of the General Administration of Administrative Development Research and Training in organizing this forum, stressing that the event represented an important platform for exchanging ideas and experiences, and strengthened partnership between different sectors to achieve sustainable development.
