The Israeli army said early this morning (Saturday) that Israeli air defenses intercepted a missile launched from Yemen.
The army said on the Telegram application that the missile was shot down before it reached Israeli territory.
Sirens sounded in dozens of cities across the country, including the Jerusalem and Dead Sea area.
Yesterday, Friday, air strikes targeted military facilities of the pro-Iranian Houthi group in Yemen.
Houthi media reported that the targeting affected a garden in the Maeen area, west of Sanaa. There was no confirmation from the United States or Britain.
Israeli military sources reported that its air force did not participate.
Last Thursday, Israeli fighter jets raided Yemen, including the international airport in Sanaa and power stations.
According to official reports, the Israeli raid resulted in the killing of at least six people and the injury of more than 40 others.
For about a year, the Houthis have been carrying out military operations with missiles and drones targeting Israel.
