The Yemeni Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Mohsen Muhammad Al-Daari, today, Tuesday, condemned the assassination attempt on the Chief of the General Staff and Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Saghir bin Aziz, during his return to the city of Marib.

The Minister of Defense said in a statement that the failed assassination attempt targeting the Chief of Staff is an attempt to dissuade him from his national positions, his courageous leadership as Chief of Staff, and his steadfastness in the face of the Iran-backed Houthi clerical militia.

He added that this cowardly attempt reflects the extent of the Houthi militia’s hatred and hatred for the national military leadership, and its keenness to target everyone who stands in the way of its terrorist project.

The Minister of Defense directed to quickly investigate the incident, uncover its circumstances, track down and arrest the perpetrators, and redouble efforts to protect roads and deter anyone who dares to harm security and stability and disturb public peace.
