Organization for Migration: The displacement of 22 thousand Yemenis for security and economic reasons

The International Organization for Migration revealed alarming numbers about the internal displacement crisis in Yemen, as it announced that it had monitored the displacement of about 22,000 Yemenis during the past year 2024.
The organization explained in its report that the main reasons behind this displacement are the deteriorating security conditions and the difficult economic situation that Yemenis suffer from, in addition to recurring natural disasters such as floods and drought.
The report indicated that most of the displaced people had fled their homes in search of safety and basic services, where they took refuge in displacement camps or were hosted by other families.
The report warned that the displacement crisis in Yemen is escalating, and that it poses a major threat to stability and security in the country. The organization called on the international community to increase support for Yemen to provide humanitarian aid to the displaced, and to work to resolve the political crisis in the country.
