The Governor of Hadhramaut, Mr. Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madi, stressed the importance of preserving cultural heritage and enhancing the role of the antiquities and museums sector in the governorate.
The governor called for the protection of recently discovered archaeological sites and the development of the governorate’s museums.
During his meeting in Mukalla, the Governor of Hadhramaut presented the Director General of the General Authority for Antiquities, Museums and Manuscripts of the Hadhramaut Coast, Riyad Bakramum, as a gift to the Mukalla Museum two “cars” whose manufacture dates back to the Sultanic period, to be displayed in the Mukalla Museum after carrying out some necessary maintenance for them, to be an addition to the museum. Which has become a tourist destination for visitors to the governorate from home and abroad.
The governor stressed the protection of the governorate’s antiquities and urged the authority to take the necessary steps to monitor and document them and add them to the list of our country’s archaeological monuments.
