The Israeli occupation announces the interception of a missile launched from Yemen

The Israeli occupation army announced on Sunday the interception of a missile launched from Yemen shortly after sirens sounded in areas of the occupied Palestinian territories. The occupation army said in a statement posted on Telegram: “After the sirens sounded a short while ago in Talmi Eliezer, a missile launched from Yemen was intercepted before it crossed into Israeli areas.”
The Israeli occupation army announced on Friday that it had shot down a drone launched from Yemen after it entered Israeli airspace. In "solidarity with the Gaza Strip", since November 2023, the Houthis have begun targeting cargo ships linked to Israel in the Red Sea with missiles and drones, in addition to launching attacks on targets inside Israel. The Houthi attacks led to a significant decline in maritime traffic through the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Red Sea to the Suez Canal, which is an essential corridor for international trade.
The Israeli occupation also launched raids on areas controlled by the Houthis in Yemen, one of which targeted Sanaa International Airport at the end of December. On Sunday morning, Al-Masirah TV and the Houthi-run Saba News Agency reported that the east of the city of Saada was subjected to three raids, which they attributed to American and British forces, without any mention of damage or injuries. The United States and Britain did not immediately respond to these reports.
Since the beginning of 2024, a US-led coalition has launched raids that it says target “Houthi sites” in various regions of Yemen, in response to its naval attacks, which has been met with a response from the group from time to time. With the intervention of Washington and London last January, the Houthi group announced that it now considered all American and British ships among its military targets.
