The Minister of State and Governor of the capital, Aden, Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, today, Wednesday, together with the ambassador of the sisterly United Arab Emirates to our country, Mohammed Al Zaabi, inaugurated the first phase projects to restore the infrastructure of the local water and sanitation institution in the capital, Aden, and the Buraiqa police station.< /p>
During the opening, which was attended by Major General Mutahar Ali Naji, Director of Security of the Capital Aden, and Director of the Water Corporation, Engineer Muhammad Bakhbira, Lamlas praised the support of the brothers in the UAE for the infrastructure of the Water and Sanitation Corporation, noting that the local authority had implemented a number of reforms in the dilapidated network. It continues to work to solve the problem of the weak quantities of water reaching citizens, and to meet the increasing need for it.
Lamlas stressed that the work of the local authority in the water sector will include a number of aspects, including restoring the infrastructure, digging a number of wells to increase the quantities of produced water, in addition to strengthening the institution’s mechanisms and equipment.
For his part, the Director of Aden Security praised the UAE’s support for Aden’s security, noting that the opening of the police station in Buraiqa was part of the support provided to activate police stations in the directorates.
Engineer Muhammad Bakhbira, Director of the Aden Water Corporation, presented details of the first phase projects funded by the UAE for the Water Corporation, and the nature of the work completed, including the rehabilitation of the dilapidated water network, in addition to purchasing equipment and machinery for the Corporation, explaining the Water Corporation’s modern techniques in monitoring reservoirs, And learn about the details of pumping in the districts of Al-Tawahi, Al-Mualla, and Sira.
