The “Masam” project to clear Yemeni lands of mines achieved a new achievement in the framework of its humanitarian efforts, as it was able during the past week to remove 115 mines, unexploded shells, and explosive devices planted randomly by the Houthi militias in the liberated areas of Yemen.
Sources in the “Masam” project confirmed that specialized engineering teams were able to identify and dismantle these mines and explosive devices that threaten the lives of civilians, as part of the efforts made to secure the liberated areas and facilitate the return of the displaced to them.
The sources added that these mines and explosive devices were planted randomly on farms, agricultural lands, and residential areas, which poses a direct threat to the lives of civilians and obstructs relief and reconstruction efforts.
These efforts come within the efforts of the “Masam” project to clear Yemeni lands of mines that were widely planted by the Houthi militias, which caused the death and injury of thousands of civilians, and the displacement of hundreds of thousands from their homes.
